Elder Sumit’s history in buiding houses at Omkoi that have become guest houses of organizations, institutes and many visitors from various countries in cluding Onkoi’s missionaries having chances to stay here began from my journey to Bangkok and came across both Elder Sumit and his wife and I had invited them to visit the newly anointed church of Sabomhed, Omkoi. When they arrived, they were so impressed by the weather at Omkoi which is cool and pleasant whole year round. Elder Sumit would like to purchase a piece of land and finally I recommended him to buy that piece of land from the older brother Narong. Soon after Elder Sumit built a house to enable Pastor Woraphong to use as sojourn when Pastor Woraphong came up to teach at the Omkoi Bible School and then Elder Sumit built another house to pray. But before the completion of the house, Elder Sumit nearly entered into the kingdom of God untimely. Finally, that house was completed to serve dual pruposes of sojourn and praying.
Afterwards, he built a much bigger house and I asked him the purpose of building such house which he replied that had no knowledge as well. Before building this mansion, he submitted plans and drawings with an Pastor and there was no progress for many months. When time of God arrived, the mansion was completed enabling it to house a large number Karen Christians organizations and visitors of the Bible School which firstly they were afraid of not having sufficient accommodations. But after the completion of this mansion, it was incredible that it can house a large number of visitors sufficeiently. This is beyond any description or explanation because we as humans do not know the will of God. Until today, we can confirm that our God is the greatest beyond humans’ descriptions and understanding. Many asked the houses and mansion built by whom and for what purposes? The answer was only God knows and He has boosted Elder Sumit’s morale to build houses and mansion to serve Him at Omkoi and everything was done to honor the Lord.
May God bless Elder Sumit and his family members for serving the Lord in housing God’s servants from far and wide.
Elder Sumit accompanied me to Omkoi and finally had bought this piece of land and begun construction as the accommodation. he had expressed his full willingness to allow God’s servants and brothers-and-sisters-in-Christ to use these facilities.
Many nationalities from the U.S., Europe, Australia and Asia had ever stayed here. All of them were impressed by the exalted hospitality of Elder Sumit and were surprised that there is still such
type of person today.
Those who had personally met him fully admired his warm welcome. Because of his faith in God, Elder Sumit then built these houses in Sabomhad Vellage, T. Omkoi, A. Omkoi. These houses became grace to those who had chances to visit this village in order to serve God and to witness God’s blessings to Karen. Undoubtedly, these houses shall also benefit at the greater extent in future.
I do believe that God has prepared this place to honor Him via Elder Sumit. These blessing shall flow to various nationalities and shall certainly flow back to Elder Sumit.
My name is Rev. Somchai Sunthornthurasuk. I am the Director of Thailand Pocket Testament League (T.P.T.L.) which is an international christians organization with offices around the world to evangelist Jesus Christ’s gospel via various media.
I remembered that it took about ten hours to travel by car to spread His words and to visit some churches at Omkoi, Chiangmai during 1980s. In those days dated back more than 20 years, roads were terrible and from that first visit I never came back until my wife and me and God’ s servants, i.e. Rev. George and Rita Galia of Australia who planned to travel to A. Maelanoi’s Huay Kai Pa Village via Omkoi for Christians Revivalism and from there to evangelist in various places. Before the journey to the north in December 2004, I learnt that there was an elder from a church in Bangkok who built houses that meant for accommodations of God’s servants journeying along. This man is Elder Sumit. As a matter of fact, during December 2004 there were pastors in Bangkok persuading me to visit Omkoi and I turned them down. Until December 2004, our team had arrived a place belonging to Edler Sumit who called “God-is-Love House”. Our team had brought films, audio and Rev.George-Rita Galia, God’s servants who gifted with playing violin, singing, drawing and spreading gospel from drawing. Our team was warmly received and there was a large number of audience to watch films and listen to gospel. And we also had a chance to evangelist to teenagers of various sojourns. I also brought Grace Baptist TN from the U.S. to come up to Omkoi once again during April 2005 according to the call of God that month for more than ten of us to evangelist at A. Omkoi. Once again we were warmly received from Elder Sumit and his wife. We had seen blessings abundantly bestowing to each team which came from faraway crossing water and sea for more than ten hours to reach Thailand and furthered the trips to Omkoi which reflected blessings not only to brethren at A. Omkoi but also to various teams which came from far and wide. These people were impressed and had brought back blessings from God.
Omkoi nowadays in not the same with those of more than 20 years ago. It prospers extensively but its people are still poor. According to the government’s survey, people at Omkoi are the poorest ones. Though they are poor in fresh, they are not poor in spiritual. I thank God that various teams from overseas both near and far contact me to evangelist in Thailand and of course, A. Omkoi is one of our destinations for me to accompany them to evangelist with collaborations from Elder Sumit and his wife. This place of Elder Sumit, “God-is-Love House” is suitable for seminars, camping because its atmosphere is good and tranquil, pleasant and cool all year round. Everything which God bestows is ready and I believe that there will be various teams traveling here to collaborate with Elder Sumit and his wife.
May God bless and bestow something good to both of them.
